Den of the Beastly Bear

Well folks...I'm whipped!
Been a long couple of days...what with the storm cleanup and projects at work.
So it took me exactly 7 days to miss my first "daily" blog...sorry folks, but I bet it won't be the last time!
Time and tides wait for no man they say...

I admit to being at a bit of a loss today, where the past posts leaped easily to I'm just, Meh!

On the plus side one of my favorite TV shows started last night. FX's "Justified"! Of course I worked last night so had to DVR it to watch today.

If you've never seen it, the show follows the exploits of fictional U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens played by Timothy Olyphant! Based on the novella "Fire in the Hole" by Elmore Leonard. Leonard also featured the character in three novels "Pronto", "Riding the Rap" and 2011's "Raylan", penned after the shows success!

Raylan, is a slow talking, fast shooting smartass!
Is it completely unrealistic escapist fantasy? Sure!
But incredibly fun escapist fantasy.
As an example:
In a confrontation with a known evil doer, Raylan tries to impress upon this fellow that continuing to travel the path he's taking will not end well for him!
Of course our evil doer remains unconvinced.
Raylan turns to go, but then turns back and says "Catch!"
And tosses something to said evil doer, who snatches it out of the air.
When he opens his hand we see it is a pistol cartridge.
He looks up at Raylan, quizzical look on his face.
Raylan says "Next one will be coming about 1000 feet per second faster!"
Turns and walks away...

Gotta love it!
Well I do anyway, may not be your cup of tea and that's ok...but at least if you didn't before, you know about it now!
Tuesdays at 10pm on FX.

Well, time to fire up the DVR.
The Beastly Bears gonna "escape" for about an hour!

Be Well!

  1. Why don't I ever hear about these shows or see them?? Oh, never mind, it's because I don't watch t.v. anymore, I watch Netflix.. Except for The Game Of Thrones, that I watch. :) Now I'll have to check out "Justified." :)

  2. You'll like it I think MiMi, seasons 1-2 are the best in my opinion, but they're all good!
    Should be available on Netfix!!!
